Dear UU Church of Elgin Family, Based on guidance from the UUA and discussion with knowledgeable members of the congregation, the UUCE building will be closed to group meetings, including Sunday service, until at least April 5th.  We will re-evaluate later in the month and make a decision based on local conditions at that time. The Worship Team is discussing how we might accommodate Sunday service via streaming video or other distance methods, and more information will be sent about those plans when we have them. From the available information, social distancing is an important part of controlling the spread of COVID-19, and so we must do our part by supporting those efforts. We should still continue to come together using available technology to hold scheduled meetings.  The Board will meet in this way on March 18th.— UUCE Board President, Kevin Sweeney

During this time of contagion and precaution, we wrap our arms around each other and those around the world with our respectful “social distance”. But let us stay in touch, by phone, by our private Facebook Bulletin Board group, our public Facebook page, posts on our website,  email, phone, and in our prayers. Do not hesitate to reach out to me, you are each in my heart.– Rev. Leland minister@uuce.org
