The mission of the Social Justice Committee of the UU Church of Elgin is to facilitate a process whereby members can identify causes to which we are called by our UU principles; to create opportunities for members to impact social inequalities in order to further social justice.

CROP Walk
| Walk in this annual event to stop hunger, or sponsor a walker. |

| On the first Sunday of the month, we collect donations for the Elgin Interfaith Food Pantry. |

Larkin Center Group Home
| The Social Justice Committee sponsors one of the Larkin Center group homes. There are many ways you can get involved with the youth residents of the home. |

| Each year at Christmastime, we provide an opportunity to give a gift to the Larkin Center group home which we sponsor. |

Our Social Justice Committee is always looking for people who are interested in helping to work to promote justice and equity. An important part of our mission is to increase awareness and to educate the community on social justice concerns. The Committee also provides options and facilitates member response to pressing social justice issues.
